One of the most rewarding aspects of the fair was connecting with collectors and art lovers in person. I loved having the chance to share the stories behind my pieces, hear your impressions, and exchange thoughts and emotions through art. Every conversation felt like a window into why I do what I do—art as connection, expression, and shared experience.

For this edition, I was especially excited to debut my new cactus collection, a body of work that explores resilience and beauty in unexpected forms. I also introduced a series of landscapes, expanding into new territory that reflects my evolving perspective as an artist. And for the first time, I brought a wider range of art prints—which turned out to be a big hit!

1. Understanding Print Sizes (With or Without a White Border)

At Andrearting, we offer prints with or without a white border to make framing easier. Some original artworks have unique dimensions that don’t always fit standard frame sizes, so this option helps you find the best framing solution while keeping the artwork’s composition intact.

• Prints WITH a white border have a built-in visual buffer that acts as a minimalist mount.
• Prints WITHOUT a white border are full-bleed, meaning the artwork extends to the edges of the paper.

Standard Print Dimensions

Here are the sizes available for some of our prints:

📏 A-Sized Prints:
✔ A3 – 29.7 x 42 cm (11.7 x 16.5 inches)
✔ A2 – 42 x 59.4 cm (16.5 x 23.4 inches)
✔ A1 – 59.4 x 84.1 cm (23.4 x 33.1 inches)

📏 Square & Rectangular Prints:
✔ 30 x 30 cm – (11.8 x 11.8 inches)
✔ 30 x 40 cm – (11.8 x 15.7 inches)
✔ 50 x 40 cm – (19.7 x 15.7 inches)

If your print includes a white border, the internal artwork will be slightly smaller than the total print size. If your print is borderless (full-bleed), it reaches the edges of the paper.

Depending on whether your print has a white border, you have two main framing options:

Framing a Print WITH a White Border:

✅ Exact Fit (No Mount): Use a frame that matches the print size to let the white border act as a built-in mount. This creates a sleek, modern look.

✅ With a Mount: Choose a larger frame with a separate mount (e.g., A2 frame for an A3 print). This will add depth and emphasize the artwork, complementing the internal white border.

Framing a Print WITHOUT a White Border:

✔ Opt for a frame that matches the exact size of your print for a seamless, edge-to-edge display.
✔ Add a mount if you want extra space around the artwork for a gallery-style effect.

3. Selecting the Right Frame Style

Your frame should enhance both your print and your home décor. Here are a few options to consider:

🪵 Wood Frames – Warm and timeless, natural wood suits various styles, from rustic to contemporary. Painted wood frames in black or white offer a bold, clean aesthetic.

🔹 Glass – Scratch-resistant and provides a traditional polished finish, though heavier and more fragile.

🔹 Acrylic – Lightweight, shatter-resistant, and provides UV protection to help prevent fading. It’s ideal for larger prints (A1 size) or high-traffic areas where durability is needed.

💡 Pro Tip: If your print will be placed in a bright room, consider non-reflective (museum) glass or UV-protective acrylic to minimize glare and preserve color vibrancy.

A Clear Focus: Connecting with the UK Art Scene

My primary goal going into the fair was simple: I wanted to gain feedback on my work and understand what resonates most with art lovers and collectors in the UK. Having recently relocated to London from Mexico, I was eager to see how my pieces, deeply influenced by my Mexican heritage, would be received by a different audience.

My Booth: Creating Movement and Balance

I showcased a total of 16 pieces at the fair, organizing my booth in a way that created a sense of movement and cohesion. On one lateral wall, I placed my smaller works, while opposite them were my linen artworks. The two centerpieces, Aurora and Celeste—both 1 meter by 1 meter—stood prominently on the central wall, surrounded by smaller colorful pieces. I wanted my booth to feel dynamic yet balanced, allowing each piece to shine in its own way.

Standout Pieces: Big, Bold, and Textured

It was fascinating to see which pieces drew the most attention. Aurora and Celeste—the two largest pieces—captivated visitors immediately with their bold colors and energy. Lluvia, with its dancing petals, was another favorite among the crowd. However, it was my Cactus Collection that truly stole the show. Both the original and the prints of Cactus de Sabores were a hit, and my textured artwork, Sonora, depicting a cold desert night with blooming cactuses, resonated deeply with visitors.

Audience Engagement: A Deeper Connection

The reaction from visitors was beyond what I had hoped for. People showed genuine interest in my work, asking thoughtful questions about my Mexican roots, my creative process, and the stories behind each piece. It was rewarding to see how they connected not only with the colors and imagery but also with the cultural significance embedded in each painting.

One of the most memorable interactions came from a visitor who shared how much the vibrant colors reminded them of their own travels through Mexico. Their appreciation for the cultural details in my work reminded me just how powerful art can be in creating connections across different experiences and backgrounds.

The Joy Jar: A Moment of Connection

A special element of my booth was the Joy Jar—an interactive installation that invited visitors to write down and share the little things that bring them joy. The response was even better than I had envisioned. People were eager to participate, laughing, reflecting, and reading what brought joy to others. Some of the most touching notes included thoughts on family, friendships, and life’s simple pleasures—like enjoying pastries in the sun or finding a cozy pub.

Sales & Successes: A Heartfelt Thank You

I left the exhibition feeling immensely grateful—not only for the sales of my artwork but also for the joy I saw on the faces of those who engaged with my work. The popularity of my Cactus Collection and the colorful pieces exceeded my expectations. But more than that, the experience of sharing the love I have for art with so many people made the event unforgettable.

Through this exhibition, I learned that color and cactuses hold a special place in people’s hearts. The vibrant patterns and energy that I try to channel into my work struck a chord, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

The Other Art Fair has inspired me to continue experimenting with themes of nature, joy, and cultural identity.
